Gallions pupils perform at the Royal Festival Hall

On Tuesday 18th July 20 pupils in Year 5 performed in the final concert of a two year project with NewYVC Unite. Gallions pupils joined together with children from across East London to form the massed choir.

Over the past two years pupils have learned songs spanning different geographies, crossing time periods and in a range of languages. They have taken part in cluster rehearsals at various schools in Newham and even given up a Saturday afternoon for a special rehearsal at Stratford Circus Arts Centre ahead of the big concert.

On the day pupils spent the whole afternoon in rehearsals preparing for the performance. Every child was given a commemorative t-shirt to wear in the concert and keep afterwards. The concert was a roaring success and the pupils were delighted to see so many parents, family members and teachers in the audience!
