Gallions Choir West Ham Foundation Performance

By | Uncategorized

The Gallions Primary School Choir were invited to perform at The West Ham Foundations end of year awards celebration. Gallions has a strong relationship with the Foundation as their coaches support the school running sports activities at lunchtime on the playground, coaching the football teams, and reading support for the children that need it.

A selection of Year 5 & 4 children were chosen to open the celebration with a number of Christmas classics including Away in a Manager, Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer and Santa Claus is Coming to Town. The choir led by Y1 TA Simcess Kamara and Music Manager Ashley Roye finished their performance with a rendition of the hit single from “The Greatest Showman” “This is me”. The children loved it as did the audience as they were given a huge round of applause as they left the stage. Fingers crossed the children did enough to warrant a return invite next year!

Gallions Winter Concert 2018

By | Uncategorized

For the third successive year Gallions held their Winter concert at the Porsche Centre East London showroom. Over a 100 children from Gallions performed on the day as both the Senior and Junior Choirs and Orchestras performed pieces that had been working on for the term.

There were also performances from our new look Bass Attack that is now made up of Y3 & 4 students. Whilst a Violin and Viola group from Y4 also gave a group performance. We also featured a solo performance from one of our Y4 cello students who has just started after school lessons this term.

The concert ended with the Senior Orchestra combining with Junior Choir to close the show with a rendition of “We wish you a merry Christmas” that got everyone in the showroom singing along. It was a great note to end the show on.

Thanks again to Ivan Howell, Amy Dennis and the rest of the staff for their continued support of music at Gallions Primary School by hosting our concert and continuing to fund transport costs involving the Gallions pupils performing.

Junior Choir Perform at Gallions Reach

By | Concert

Once again the Gallions children were invited to sing at the Christmas lights switch on at Gallions Reach Retail park. Armed with songbooks gloves and Santa hats our junior choir took to the stage and delivered festive classics like Rudolph the red nose reindeer, jingle bells and Santa Claus is coming to town.

At the end of the performance the children were joined on stage by Santa who launched the final countdown to the Christmas lights switching on and a flurry of snow and more Christmas tunes for the children (and parents) to sing along too. It was a wonderful afternoon with the children delivering a brilliant performance.

The junior choir will be singing again at the Newham Community Lights switch on on Friday 7th December at 4:30 pm.
